For Sale: Alpha Pioneer III drop-weight stringing machine. Machine is built like a tank. Features: drop-weight tensioning system ranging from 15-80 lb., fixed single action glide bar clamp system, silent uni-directional clutch for easy drop-weight adjustment, linear string gripper, six point mounting system with quick release at 6 & 12, turntable with 360 degree racquet rotation (with glide bars on an additional integrated turntable), turntable lock/brake, installation and operation manual, stringing tools.
Machine is in good condition and produces consistent constant pull string beds. Pictures are available. I have been told that mounting system is restricted in racquet head size, but fits about 98% of racquets (It has fit any racquet I have mounted. I have strung 115 sq. in. heads like the Wilson Triad 3, but this is probably about the upper limit). Fan style racquets would require the use of a floating clamp as with any glide bar clamp system. I have seen this type machine modified with a Wise electronic tensioning head mounted.
If you have not strung before, this is a great machine to learn on because of the stringer quality, the mounting system, and the fixed clamps. You can replicate the stringing quality of the professional electronic machines with the crisper constant pull stringbeds. You'll see savings in the cost of string and stringing labor as well as the opportunity to fine tune your racquet to your game. Plus it's fun!
