WTA Women's RANKINGS (Updated Monday, January 7th 2008.) :
This week, we are starting a new year, picking up where we left off on December 10th, though there were only small changes since the WTA Tour Championship in Madrid last November.
To start the ball rolling > 1 UP and 1 DOWN in the Top 20 this week.
Here are the details :
In the Top 20, 1 UP this week :
- Patty Schnyder +1 > #15
and 1 DOWN :
- Dinara Safina -1 > #16
A total of 63/80 changes in the Top 100 this week, but the only 2 notable UPS (+10 places or better) this week are :
- Lindsay Davenport +20 > #52 (with a win in the ASB Classic Auckland, N.Z. over Aravane Rezai 62 62).
- Aravane Rezai +23 > #67 (after reaching the Final in Auckland)
and the 2 significant DOWNS (-10 places or more) this week are :
- Camille Pin -13 > #89
- Jill Craybas -21 > #100
