ITF Junior Boy's rankings (updated Monday, January 7th 2008) :
Last year Uladzimir Ignatik lost his place as ITF #1 after Orange Bowl, Boys 18 which was won by Ricardas Berankis.
As Ricardo was defending champion in the Yucatan World Cup, he had to win this year to be sure to hold on to his newly acquired World Junior Champion title.
Uladzimir lost in the QF and Ricardo, who had an easy run to the final, but then a very close match, beating Henrique Cunha 62 67(7) 64 to win the tournament and the ITF#1 2007.
This week, we are starting a new year, picking up where we left off on December 17th.
To start the ball rolling, there are quite a lot of changes as the older boys leave their places to the up and coming younger boys.
As the 3 Juniors at the Top 3 places were born in 1990, they are only 17 years old and they have kept their same places this year.
The 7 following places were left vacant and there has been a scramble to grab a place in the Top 10, things will settle down and start to look good by the end of the Australian Open Junior tournament.
In the mean time let's just sit back and see who can hang onto his new place. There are already a few changes after the first week, over 60 Junior Boys have changed places already in the Top 100.
