I've recently seen singles sticks on sale at atssport.com. These are made by the Gamma company and we've all seen them at one time or another, holding up each end of the net 3 feet in, to ensure the absoulte adherance of regulation hight during a singles match. MY QUESTION IS THIS: Many times during the summer you go to play and you begin to notice that the net is kind of droopy at some courts and so you measure at the center and sure enough, it is around 3 inches too low. Would the singles sticks solve this problem? It would be nothing to keep the pair of 42inch aluminum sticks in the trunk of your car for the season. Thanks

in some cases the sticks will make the net too high. im sure every situation will be different. you brought up a good point. i have decided to buy some single sticks as when i play some tournaments they have them and sometimes they can make it tough for me to hit ad court serves out wide. i will use them in practice so im ready for tournaments
the perfect thing to do it use the sticks and then measure and adjust the center net
thanks

Thanks for the input Paul, I just made a set out of two thick dowels with a wide groove cut to the top, 42 inches from the bottom of the groove to the end of the stick, and a tiny round piece of foam glued to the bottom, the entire stick spray painted flat black. Now I keep them in the trunk of the car and I'll never have the low net problem again!

Jenscoach:
You are quite the DIY-er. The poles on ATS probably cost like $30 and I bet you spent less than $5.
Paul:
At tournaments, they should have USTA umpires to check the height of the net.
