Through all my research (and price range) I have come to these two machines, the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus vs. the Mutual Power Hercules 680 (Gamma Progression II FC was a runner for a bit). Can anyone give any feedback on the MP machines, they seem to be the least expensive next to Eagnas (which I have fully ruled out), but their website worried me- bad grammar and only accepting paypal or mailed payment.
Any feedback appreciated.

I highly recommend the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus machine. The quality is excellent and the service from Mark or Greg is second to none. One example as I recall is that someone purchased this same MP machine and needed a new tension scale label for some reason that I do not recall. It was like a $17 item - with Alpha, a spare tension scale comes with the machine. My Alpha machine was calibrated spot on and has been great - nice spring assist clamps, linear string gripper, clutch with ratchet and string ditch, soid mounting system. The Alpha may be a little more expensive but the quality and serice make it the better overall bargain hands down!

I have now read in a couple places that Mutual Power was started by ex lily-lee (maxline, eagnas) employees, maybe with hopes to sell less expensive and lower quality machines with better communication-feedback, who knows. I know that I would rather not take the chance.
Newtech seems to be the best bang for the buck with what they throw in on a machine purchase. Where did you purchase your Alpha Pioneer DC plus?

What is the brake like on the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus? I play with a Prince O3 tour, and I heard a table break is very helpful. I have also heard that the DC Plus' brake is difficult to use, and I am hoping to get some more info on this. Thanks!

I got my Alpha from Alpha/newtechtennis. Mark Gonzalez is great and the customer service is superb. As to the brake, the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus uses a screwstop with slight detents on the turntable shaft. For the Prince O series frames most people use their body to position/hold the frame versus the brake (even those with high end machines such as the Babolat Sensor/Star 5).

Thanks for the inside info!

I have the Gamma Progression 2 and love it, it's so easy to use and is very high quality.
Good luck.

If you are tight on budget X-2 is the best. I'm selling an Gamma X-2 Drop Weight machine too. It's great for starters!
Heres a link for more info!

Hi everyone! I'm just thinking of buying my first stringing machine and a local dealer is selling two models (StringEco 35 and StringEco 45) for a relatively cheap price. I didn't find much info with google, so can anyone give any comments about the machines? All help is appreciated
