View Full Version : How to adjust spring tension machine?
I have an Alpha Axis machine, and recently bought a $30 "calibrator" (basically a spring attached to a tension gauge and two pieces of fake string). I can see that my machine is off by several pounds, but I'm too stupid to figure out how to adjust the machine! I tried the Alpha website, but it doesn't seem to exist (perhaps Alpha is out of business?). If anyone can explain to me how to adjust the tension spring so that my machine will be accurate again, I would greatly appreciate it.
All the best,
Charlie Wells
Don't feel bad, because you don't have the instruction. check out the Gamma web site at http://www.gammasports.com/daughter.cfm?ID=129
The manual for the Progression ST II should have the adjustment procedure the for tensioning device. I would think that it's similar to the Alpha.

The tension head has a set screw on the side and also one on the end near the string gripper near the one on the side. Using a hex wrench, loosen the one of the side. This one holds the other one in place. Then screw in the other one a turn or two and recheck the tension. When you get it right, retighten the set screw on the side.
