Tennis for me is not only my sport but also my hobbie. I've just made a couple of Wilson Jack Kramers and a Wilson JK Prostaff as nice as new. Here's all you need to do:
(1) With the finest grade sand paper, smooth down any head scrapes
(2) With fine steel wool go lightly over any decaled area around the frame
(3) With a foam brush just "flirt" a coat of polyurathane (Minwax gloss is what I used).
(4) After a few hours, just once more repeat steps (2) & (3) over all areas you finished.
I swear the racquets look like it's 1968 all over again!:)
btw, It's alright if the racquets are strung while this is done.
