I am looking for a stringing machine and I found your site to be very informative. I also found these two sites who after each others throat. I am looking particularly at Eagnas Model Hyper 220E and the Silent Partner e.Stringer CL, the machines look pretty identical aside from the motor which Eagnas claims they are using a DC motor against Silent Partner's AC motor.

Eagnas claims and I quote:
"The Silent Partner uses the 1977 General Electric AC motor speed control circuitry. This circuitry is used to control the speed of the AC motor, not the torque of the motor. Therefore, the tension is varied on every motor pull. The tension deviation is about 5 - 10 pounds on every pull. When the AC motor gets warm, it lowers tension." :(

Can you please give me your opinion? :)
Here are the sites:

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with different types of electric motors. I suggest you contact John Bassili from Silent Partner and ask him about this issue, I'm sure he is very nice and helpful. You will find the email address on the start page on the Silent Partner website.
In general I would be careful with claims of Eagnas about their competitors. BTW there is an interesting page on the Silent Partner website about Eagnas, you can access it from the Stringing Machines page.

Task is not a good idea to ask the vendor if its product is good (naturally will say to you that it is optimal ;) ).
Rather I would watch the others stringing machine more high level that type of motor they use, if to A.C. motor like Silent Partner or to D.C. motor like Eagnas.
However anch' I as Joe I would make attention to what they write ontheir respective pages web of concurrent theirs, (it is what Silent Partner writes on Eagnas, it is what Eagnas writes on Silent Partner)
