View Full Version : New LaserFibre / Stringway model ML 120 ?
I just tried to order myself a Stringway ML100, and was told that that model is no longer being produced. Instead, there will be a new model called "ML120". It will most likely have a different name in the US. Has anyone seen this machine up close? Is it just as good as ML 100 / MS200TT, or is it the cheapified version of the same machine?

The Stringway ML100 is still available and will continue in the future as a table-top drop-weight machine, with the blocking device that maintains the weight at the 2 o'clock position when there is no string in the tensionner, plus a choice of cradles with either single or double action dual clamps. :)
The ML120 is a new model that is exclusively on a floor stand. In fact the base is the same as the MS200 foot operated model, but using a drop weight tensionner rather than a tungsten spring. It comes with the same options as the ML100 and is in fact a little cheaper than the ML100 with a floor stand, and as an upright machine is certainly a good deal better.
So if you are looking for a table top machine you can still get the ML100, if you want a floor-stand with it, then you would be better off taking the ML120.
I'm not sure of the equivalent references used by Laserfibre, but if you contact them I am sure that they will sort it out for you.
You are certainly looking at great stringers, I think that they are the best "technical/quality/value for money" stringing machines on the market. Go for it mate. ;)
Hope this helps you to find what you are looking for.
Thank you! This is very helpful to know. I am having a great trouble locating any available ML100 / MS200TT machine, either in Europe or the US. I was offered ML120 instead. Having not seen any, nor heard of, for that matter, I did not go for it. Besides, for me -- a home user -- small size is a benefit.
