View Full Version : SuperString Playtest
Who else was selected. I am sure if there were 110 atleast a few of them read the forum occasionally.
I got my string yesterday, will string it up tonight hopefully. Looking forward to seeing how it plays, I had a bit of a feel of it and it's quite stiff in feel but hopefully the 1.25 gauge makes the racket feel a bit less like a board so it works itself out.
Racket strung. 58lbs with technifiber syn gut crosses, my usual poly setup. The string felt a bit more flexible than first anticipated and I do expect it to be a softer poly than usual. I will compare it to Cyber Blue as that is what I have currently in another frame in the same setup.

Received my string on Monday and I will be stringing it later today. The string has a soft feel that is similar to what kevlar feels like before it's strung up. I will be stringing it as a full job at my normal tension for a poly string of 52/49 in my Yonex. I will let you know how it turns out as I go.

I think I had an error in some of the letters that I sent along with the string.
Of course, please string a multifilament at your normal multifilament tension, and a hybrid at your normal hybrid tension.

Hey Jens,
This was my mistake, I was under the impression that VooDoo Tour was a co-poly. I will be stringing it at my normal tension of 57/54.
Thanks for the heads up.

Had a 5 min hit today before competition, which lasted the best part of 2 lets before rain kicked in. Felt a bit powerless, the V8 Control, wasn't getting a deep ball like with my CyberBlue. The spin was about the same but I really liked the feel.

Got to hit about 2hrs before the rains moved in. VooDoo Tour V9 1.20 for a multi this is a very stiff and muted string. Reminds me of a kevlar more than a multi, nice control and spin but low on feel and lacking on touch shots. Strung it at 57/54 in a Yonex RDiS 100 98 and the ERT confimed the tension right after stringing. It lost 2 pounds (0.91kg) overnight and another 6 pounds (2.72kg) after 2 hrs of agressive hitting, which is not bad at all. Will play it again tomorrow weather permitting.
