Has anyone had any luck in increasing maneuvarability by adding lead tape at the handle? How much tape or weights is neccesary to do this?

And where do you put it, under the grip? On each bevel? I know some racquets have little "trap doors" in the butt (lol... that sounded funny), but mine doesn't.

If you are trying to make your racket more head light, that is the way to go. remove the grip, apply the lead tape to the bare handle< try 5 % of the weight of the frame to start, then cover completely with a wrap of electrical tape. Re apply the grip add or decrease as needed.
The tape is to form a barrier to Lead exposure. Wash your hands before reinstalling the grip.

^^^^^
This is what I did with my Microgel Radical MP98
I went from about 11.1oz strung to about 11.9oz strung I gained maneuverability , and overall mass. In general it made the radical play much closer to my current stick the Microgel Prestige.

When you're adding that much weight, it's simpler to wrap 2 or 4 gram sinkers in cotton and glue them into the handle. It doesn't change the handle shape and you're NOT exposed to the lead. Experiment first, and then secure your finished product.

You must have added a ton of tape to go from 11.1 to 11.9.....

10" of 1/4 tap only adds .15 oz.....

If you add the weight at the end of the grip and wrap just like a grip towards the throat it will make it feel more headlight even without adding a ton of weight. It will also make it a heavier swing weight.

If you add the weight under the grip towards the throat and work back, or just put some tap at 6 O'clock, it will increase the static weight same as above, but not give quite as much of a head light feeling - more of a neutral way.

Try some take on the hoop at 6 to increase the static weight. I would cut into 2.5 inch stips then layer them on top of each other until I liked the feel. Then if you want a little more height light feeling put it under the grip. Lead tape makes a bigger difference than I thought it would.

In any case lead tape isn't designed to turn a 10oz racquet into a 11.4oz racquet. I would suggest starting with a platform that is closer to what you like and staying in the .5 oz range for tape and weights - but thats because I don't like putting crap all over the racquet. But if you don't want to buy a new racquet, keep track of your inches of weight and play around until you find a static weight that you like as I said above, then if you want play around with where the weight itself is located. Its actually kind of fun to see how it changes the feel of the racquet.

Yeah I put way too much weight on, to try to get my Radical to play more like a Prestige. I was much happier when I finally purchased a Prestige.
How I'm back to the Radical with only a little weight at 3 & 9
