I'm considering getting a stringing machine for my personal use. I've been reading through the information on this site and others for the last several days. It seems that a lot of people recommend LaserFibre machines. So, I called them last night and talked for some time to the sales rep. Extremely helpful.

At the end of the conversation, we finally got down to cost. Their MS200 ECOo with double action clamps would run just over $600. The MS200 TT with double action clamps runs just over $700. All machines are expected to receive a price increase in February. I was a little surprised at the price after reading things here. I was expecting things to be in the $400-500 range.

At these prices, are these machines still recommended for personal use? Are there others that I should consider? It sounds like the used market for LaserFibre is non-existent. :(

Any thoughts appreciated.

You might want to check into Alpha and Gamma. Both companies make good home machines. There's a Gamma engineer that haunts the Tennis Warehouse message board that will be able to answer any question you might have. And if you contact Alpha, Mark Gonzales is a terrific guy and be very willing to help you.
