the 2086 pro tension head

does anyone own one of these electronic tension head? i wonder how good it is. from the website (www.tennishead.com (http://www.tennishead.com)), it seemed impressive and for around $500. any comments???

I know several good stringers that use it. It's been proven to be a good tensionings system and Mr. Wise has chased the gremlins out and it has become quite reliable.

I've had one for close to 3 yrs. and have only had 1 minor problem with it. I lost a ball bearing from the string gripper, but it was easily replaced. It's a no brainer for anyone who has a good manual machine already and wants to upgrade to electronic tensioning.

i'm glad you posted a reply because one of the two reviews i read was yours :) so, the reliability was good. i assumed you went back to the company to fix the ball bearing problem? if so, how were they to deal with?

lastly, can you comment on the accuracy of the machine to date? thanks.

Wise sent me a complete set of new ball bearings for the string gripper and I replaced them myself(Herb walked me through it over the phone). It was an easy fix. Their service has been excellent, but I've only had that one simple problem, which is a good thing! I've checked the calibration on my 2086 several times and it's always been perfect. I check my calibration tool using certified Olympic barbell weights, so I know it's accurate.
