So after all the research and getting outbid on ebay on all the Ektelons, I just decided to buy a Mutual Power. I read only a handfull of posts from numerous sites, but I really didn't see any negative feedback on the Mutual Power stringers. I wanted a stand-up model but didn't want to spend $600+ on a Gamma, Alpha, etc. From what I read the Eagnas company is a nightmare to deal with and I would probably go crazy dealing with ignorant people like that, so I decided to start off with the Mutual Power Alpine 4000. FYI: I have about 10 years of racket stringing experience, all on Ektelon Model DE and H, but the last time I strung was about 7 years ago. I should be getting the stringer on Wednesday of next week and will then begin to string my rackets along with many many of my friends' rackets who have been waiting for me to buy a stringer. $30, every two weeks, at your local shop for cheap syn. gut is getting pricy.

Anyhow, I'm writing basically to give everyone a heads up that once I string a decent amount of rackets I will post a full review of the Alpine 4000. It really sucked trying to search for information on the Mutual Power stringers only to find a handful of reviews. So I'll post my review and add to the limited amount.

Will write back soon,
Erik

Have fun with your new machine. As you've already found out, not many MP machines out there. I don't know anyone that uses one. We'll look forward to your review.

$30 for syngut? I charge around $22.50 US for Prince syn w/duraflex (that includes sales tax). What does your shop charge for something like NXT?

Thanks David.

I exaggerated a little bit. The local shops in my area normally charge $20 to $25 for cheap syn gut. My cousin strung his racket with Head Ultra Tour (not the best and most expensive string) and he paid $32. So I'm guessing, the better strings are probably even more.

Once I get my stringer I won't ever have to worry about those large fees. I already bought a few reels and some mixed sets. Gonna start trying different strings out.

I'm also looking at buying a Mutual Power machine. Like you, I'm having
a hard time finding many rewiews or comments on these machines. I would really love to hear your review now that you have had your machine for a few months.
If anyone else has any information they would like to share, it also would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
