Hi everyone, I am looking for a drop-weight stringing machine, around $250 to $350 range. I've read some topics in this forum and go through some web site as well.

Eventually, I come up with these two machine in mind:

1) Gamma X-6, its famous reputation and the quality of its machine, and the price seems resonable with such brand name.

2) Hawk 80, I've heard so many bad things about Eagnas and Maxline, I hope with such a basic mechanism on Hawk 80(Drop Weight), it won't be that bad. The price is very attractive regarding its features such as 6-points frame mounting, fixed clamps and ratchet gripper.

Have anyone used or using any of these machine??

Any opinions is welcome!!!!

Thanks!!

You have two choices here, price and reputation. If cost is your driving factor, then go with whichever one is the cheapest. If quality, service, parts availability and repair are important to you then you get what you pay for.

For about $399 you can get a Stringway.

My first stringer was a Hawk 80. The price is reasonable and the clamps hold good when kept clean. I recomend this machine but be sure and take good care of it.
