I've been stringing with a hawk 10 for a while but I think it is time for a better stringer. The 2 point mounting system is deforming my frame. I need a 4 or 6 point mounting system and would like to upgrade to a manual machine. My budget is around 600 bucks. Anyone have any sugestions. :confused:
Thanks

I can't resist. Didn't you say in another thread:
Nothin is better than an eagnas. Das my word.
All kidding aside, machines which use a *cheap* 2 point mounting systems are always going to give you problems like you're experiencing.
I will be difficult for you to find a *good* electronic machine with a 4 or 6 point mounting system (I don't know if the hawk 10 is electronic or not), but but you may want to check out the Laserfibre machines that Jaycee and others have mentioned on the board. They are drop weight machines, but extremely well designed and built. I think the MS200 ECO might be a good one for you ...
Good luck,
Eric

HAHA yea! My friends eagnas is awesome but the hawk 10 sucks! And thanks for everything else.
A well designed two point mounting system is one of the best avialable. If you look at the Prince Neos, or Ektelon model H, you will see one of the best and most popular shop stringers ever made.....they both use two point mounting. They offer rock solid, very rigid mounting. I have never deformed a racquet on my Ektelon H. It all depends on how well the system is built. Some 4 and six point systems are poorly designed and built, and will do more harm to a racquet then good.

A very valid point (I have modified my post above). It is worth noting that the cheap two point mounting systems don't distribute the load across the throat and head whereas more solid 2 point mounting systems like the NEOS do.
Cheers,
Eric

My recommendation in the < $600 range is the Alpha Revo 4000. If you have specific questions send an e-mail to Mark Gonzalez at Alpha;

Everything I have heard about eagnas has been bad. I know this guy who spent $400 on a machine and it came broken and with parts missing. Eagnas refused to give him a refund for the longest time. After he wrote angry letters for about one month the finally agreed to give him his money back for the machine. However, he still lost $200 for shipping both ways.
I am going to buy the MS ECO200 when I get the money. I think that would be a good choice for you.
