Calibrate Drop machine

Hi,
Do I need to calibrate drop machine, I just think that nothing changed with G for last 10 years, and believe to good job by Gamma designers and Tawian craftmen, who already made their calculation and put all marking on shaft.
Machine is like Alpha Pioneer III.
Also I need to ajust grips each time I'm using different gauge of string,
Is it OK ? Or I need to service somehow those clamps, they also have some minor setback when I release tensioner, maybe anybody can recommend any upgrade for them.

No you don't need to calibrate a drop weight machine.
The only error you can make is to read the scale on the wrong side of the weight.
If the clamps are adjustable, you should do so to adapt them to different string gauges.
A minor setback when you release the tensioner is normal.

The tension the drop weight machine produces changes depending the rotational position of the tension gripper. I have a Pro's Pro Challenger I machine and the tension varies between -0,7...0,7 kg. The weight of the gripper is about 370 grams and the proportion of the levers is about 2 so when the gripper is in a horizontal position the tension is +0,7 kg and in a opposite horizontal position -0,7 kg. In that case where the gripper is downwards the tension is ok. If the machine has the gripper which is not "linear" no problems with this issue.
