Hello, I am beginner on racquet stringing. Whenever I try to do a tie-off knot at the end of stringing main/cross, the last string tend to be quite loose compare to the middle ones. Am I loosing a lot of tension after the tie? If so, is there a trick that will help me to avoid that?

Some things I do.

1. Pull it hand tight as hard as possible 1st.

2. Tension the last string ~5-10 pounds tighter than the rest, and put your clamp as close to the end of the last string as possible.

I string for a lot of people and haven't had any complaints yet!

3. Release the clamp on the last string while you've still got the string end of the knot under full tension from your hanging weight(this should ensure your knot doesn't slip) and before you've done the second loop of your knot.

Another trick I use is to stick a stringing awl into the last grommet hole. this will help "hold" the strings a little bit more.
