I have the Prince Thunderlite Longbody Midplus racket. I just purchased a string machine recently and noticed that the pattern did not look right for this racket:

Tension: 53-63 lbs (not the issue)
Length: 19'M 18'C (not the issue)
Pattern: 16M-19C (not the issue)
Skip M Holes: 7,9 T, 7, 9B (not the issue)
Tie M: 8T (not the issue)
Start C: 7T (not the issue)
Tie C: 5T-6B (This IS the issue)

When I try to start the knot for the crosses (2 strings) at 5T I noticed that this grommet hole does not accommodate the second string. I had to start the knot for the crosses at 6T as this was a larger grommet hole.

After completing the crosses, I noticed that the grommet hole for 6B stated above was not large enough to accomodate the tie off cross. I had to use 8B to tie off the crosses.

Perhaps this issue has been resolved in the past, but any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. ;)

According to the USRSA string pattern for a Prince Thunderlite Longbody MP you should tie off the cross strings at 5 head and 8 throat.

As someone told me, make sure your string is cut with a very nice clean point.... this will aid you in passing the string through a filled hole.

I also tried gently "adjusting" the string that was already in the hole with an awl, but I broke the string.... kinda defeats the whole process!

So I purchased a stringers awl, but with growing experience, I don't even use it anymore... a sharp point on the string and you can fish it through.
