I am stringing my prince racquets and it calls for 2 piece stringing but a lot of the string I use is 1 piece. Is it a good idea to cut it into 2 pieces? Has anyone else had an experience with this?

I have strung the racquet using 1 piece but I figured there is a reason why they say to use 2 pieces. Thanks

If you are using sets of string rather than reels then it is ok to split it for two piece stringing. Is probably best to measure carefully first to make sure you will have enough for both the mains and crosses.

Two piece is usually specified where the manufacturer prefers the crosses to start from the top of the frame so one piece is probably as good if you adapt your method to ensure you begin the crosses at the top.

kveill - no problem at all with this.

If Prince is calling for 2-pc stringing, I would definitely follow the correct pattern, just to be safe.

John's suggestion to make sure you measure properly is a must. In all honestly, however, most string sets seem to include enough string to just cut the set equally in half -- at least with Prince racquets, I would be surprised if you didn't have enough. However, to be on the safe side, just check your measurements.

What Prince are you stringing?

Thanks,
