Pulling from the Throat

When I went to use an old drop weight machine, I noticed that I could not rotate the racquet 360 degrees, else the racquet handle would bump into the string tensioning spool. However, the beam turntable can be locked down, so the string could be pulled from less than optimal angles, i.e. not straight on. Is this acceptable? Common?

Hi,

you can't move this spool out of the way ?!

So a small deviation shouldn't be a problem then.

Just lock the turntable as close to "straight" as possible and you should be fine.

It's only relevant for a few mains, too.
