View Full Version : String pattern for a Yonex RX-28
Hello all,
I am having troubles finding the correct stringing pattern for an old racket I need to restring...The Yonex RX-28.
Can anyone help?
Hans
Hi Hans, good thing I recently bought some old pattern books via eBay :)
The racquet was introduced in 1988.
The instructions are for the model "RX-28 FL".
String pattern 16 mains / 20 crosses.
Recommended method: Two piece.
Lengths: 5.5m mains, 5.0m crosses.
Mains skip 8T.
Tie off mains at 6T.
Start crosses 7H. Tie off crosses at 6H and 8T.
Joe,
i did the mains like that, but if I only skip 8T and not 8H, the last main string is not parallel to the one before(and the difference is really big). So i skipped 8H as well, then it is more parallel.
But if you start the crosses at 7H, that whole is occupied by a main string already. Same for the 9H, also a main string in there. And i cannot skip 7H and 9H because then the top of the racket is almost unstrung.
Help???
OK Joe,
i did exactly as you said, and skipped only 8T for the mains.
Apart from the outside 2 mains not being 100% parallel, it looks ok.
It looks however strange to have a main and a cross string going through the same hole...I've not seen that a lot before, just for knots...
Hans
Hans, 8H is definitely not skipped for the mains. The following holes are shared by a main and a cross string: 7H, 8H, 7T, 9T. For older racquets it is not uncommon to have some shared holes.
