I am about to string my first racket, Head intelligence IS2 midplus. The tension recomended by the manufactor is 50-59. I am planning to get around 60-61# tension on this stringing job. I plan to use 58# for the main and add 8#'s when tie off. Is this a concern for going to 66lbs on a max 59lb recommended by the manufactor. Also, when stringing the crosses at 62#, do I also add a few lbs before tied off. I am concerning about the distortion to the frame when using such a high tension when tying off the knots. Thanks.

If you want to get it right, put 58 lbs in the mains then 62 lbs in the crosses. It's better to string in 2 pieces. ;)

Add 8 lbs to las 2 strings before the tie off (both mains and the last crosses). You will not distorte the frame, you are only compensating the loss of tension on the last strings before the knots. :(

Once they have been tied off, the tension will drop and you will end up with about 60lbs, even on the last strings, instead of them being around 45-50 lbs which, whilst it won't have any negative effect on the frame, it will lead to loss in tension on the other strings and that is what we are trying to minimise. OK?? :o

You have no risk, do it right and you will enjoy your racquet more than ever. :)
