View Full Version : Gut: keep raquets in the freezer?

Hi,

One very experienced stringer
who was once on a tour working
for Agassi and Sampras told me
that raquets strung with gut
should be kept if possible in the
freezer in order to keep the
tension better.

Three weeks later, I have to
say that for two recently strung
raquets this seems to be true,
when the tension is measured
with the Stringmeter.

Any confirmation from others?

Thanks.

Yes and this is also a good place to store the mother-in-law when she comes to visit

This guy saw you coming from a distance and was just having a little fun with you. Adverse temnperature changes can have disastrous effects on strings. If you take a racquet from freezing temperatures into room temperature you're definitley going to see a change in tension.
