I won't effect anything. It's all personal preferance. One of the Brian brothers (can't remember which one) string his racquets in the 30lbs range! As for you're shoulder, what string are you useing? The string will effect you're arm more than the tension will.

Ive always found the tenions used by the pro's fascinating! I was astonished to learn how tight Sampras had his prostaff strung and how slack Rusedksi has his done.
Trying mine at even low 50's I just cant keep it in the court!

Hi,
the manufactures tension recommendation should cover the tension range in which the racket is designed to perform best.
I wouldn't exceed the recommended tension by far (maybe the frame isn't able to cope with too high a tension).
But if you string under the recommended tension there shouldnt be a problem with the frame.
So if you like it, go for it !

The pros all have their racquets customized so what you buy on the shelf has completely different stats to what they use. Sampras i think weight his racquet past 380g which would turn his PS 85 into a rocket launcher like roddicks racquet if he didnt string tight!
I once strung a tennis team member's racket at 27 main, 29 cross. He was a better golfer than tennis player.
Interesting numbers, though.
its okay to string the tension out of the recommended string tension. my brothers ncode nPS is strung with luxilon big bangers at low 70lbs and it still hits really good.
