Shipping from US to Europe

I was hoping someone could give me the basics and things to look out for when it comes to shipping items to Europe from the US. Someone is interested in a racquet I have but I am not sure how to figure the total costs. Postage is no problem, I can get that from the USPS website unless someone has advice on a cheaper method to ship. I am more concerned about customs duties and possible taxes on items sold to European contries from the US. Can anyone give me a few pointers or a link to a post or website that describes it all? I've searched but haven't found anything definitive. Thanks!!

There will be duties tax import costs, they will most likely be sent to the buyer as a seperate invoice either before the racquet is released or after they've recieved it depending on who delivers it at this end in Europe. I've paid between £20-30 on a £135 racquet from the States.
