Default Drop-weight help! Racquet handle gets in way of tension arm

Hi, I'm sort of a newbie at stringing, maybe have done 10 string jobs with my silent partner drop-weight.

The problem I'm having is that when I string the mains at the throat, depending on the angle, when I tension it pulls the racquet handle parallel to the drop-weight arm. Once I try to drop that arm to apply tension, the racquet handle gets in the way of the weight (the metal lump) thereby preventing the arm from falling naturally to the 90 degree position. What I have to do in those cases is pull the handle to one side at the same time the arm is tensioning, which to me seems really bad.

It's sort of hard to explain so if my description is confusing, I'll try to take some pictures.

Simon, try to leave the racquet handle in a certain angle that when you pull tension it doesn't get in the way. If slowly letting the weight drop, the racquet won't move so the handle won't trouble it.

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure I can get that to work. It seems with even the lightest tension the racquet will swing unless I use the brake.

Simon, I'm not sure that this is the correct answer, but it seems to me if you use the break there isn't really a problem. Resistance through the grommet may be different, but it has to be more consistant than pushing the handle out of the way after the string is tensioned
