Default How does it work??

i had just orderd a new Gamma X-2 stringer and i somewhat know how to work it. The instructions that came with it sucked. The most difficult and only thing i dont know how to do is start off stringing the raquet . Since it has floating clamps its tricky and i still havent found a way to master it. any suggestions would be GREATLY APPREACIATED.....p.s. are there any good websites that would show me how to....

Nick

Hi,

For general info ....

Please read the Stringing Guide provided here:

http://www.stringforum.net/stringingguide.php

You can also visit sptennis.com at the link below:

http://www.sptennis.com/stringer.asp

You'd want to watch the video of the eStringer that uses flying clamps.

Have fun.

For more tips on stringing, just read through the very helpful posts here at this site. You can also visit my site for add'l tips at http://www.keohi.com/tennis

Unfortunately I don't have instructions for flying clamps here in my stringing guide. I see increasing need to update the stringing guide... give me some time...
In the meantime, Nick, get yourself a starting clamp if you don't already have one. Using the starting clamp to hold the string from the outside of the racquet, you can start off stringing the two central mains.

Yea i was looking at those starting clamps, but i didnt know if they were a good idea to get. But the thing that frusterates me the most is that when i had first gotten the stringer i had no problem starting it off. But now someting has seemed to slip my mind to make me not remeber how to expactly go about doing it.....THanks for all the feedback

That's unusual. normally the effects of memory loss don't kick in until after a much greater intake of the amber nectar. Looks like you're suffering from Stringer's syndrome very early in your career
Starting clamps are not only a good idea but can prove to be an essential tool and invaluable to get you out of some sticky situations. If you can afford them, get 2.
The SP video shows how to start with flying clamps.
cheers,
