Re: Feed Back on Wilson Rollers Please
Hi,
Sorry for delay, I've been out of touch.
Unfortunately, I purchased my first Triad rollers through Tennis Wharehouse (I live in the U.K.) in September 2002. I was so pleased with it that when a friend who had bought one in England in October 2002 (on my recommendation) found it did not suit him, I bought it from him in May 2003. In June 2003, my racquet snapped and two week later the other racquet snapped. Under English law, my claim would have been against my friend and when I took both racquets back to the shop he purchased his from, they were not really interested. They did send them back to Wilsons in Scotland who refused to do anything about it on the grounds that I had placed a lead weight in the handle (1 oz.) and half oz on each side of the head. Also they did not like my stringing the racquets myself, but I use a low tension, 58lbs. maximum. I would say that I also have had a Wilson Sledge Hammer 2.8 stretch for at least 3 years, also weighted and strung by me, without any problem whatsoever.
Unfortunately I do not have any receipts and it appears that the shop to which I returned the broken racquets has now lost them!!!
I know that there have been problems with the Triads (and some earlier models like the Outer Limits - subsequently known as the Limits in the sledgehammer series, although not in the Hammer series) as others ot my club have taken them back to the shops they purchased them from with cracks appearing.
Up until this happened, I was a total Wilson fan, in spite of the expense. I still think their racquets are amongst the most powerful, but I just cannot afford to stay with them if they are only going to last 6 months.
