Eagnas Smart 3000
Eagnas Smart 3000T

Evaluations of the Eagnas Smart 3000:

Daniel Atkinson, January 22, 2002:

   Place of purchase:Maxline

   Date of purchase:01/2002

Warranty: 5 years / 2 years for electronic parts

   Price: $850

   Equipment:

Table top electronic, rotational string gripper, 2 diamond-coated dual action swivel clamps, 6 point mounting, manual, stringing guide, tools

   Experiences:

It was a bit strange at first but I really like it now. This machine is very sturdy and durable. The clamp system is quick and easy. No problems as of yet. Definitly one of the best electronic machines in this price range.
If I had to pick one thing I would definitly prefer a linear electronic stringer. If you string more than 15 racquets a week it would be worth the extra cash to go linear.

Richard Schumann, November 13, 2006:

   Place of purchase:Maxline

   Date of purchase:06/2001

   Warranty: 5 years

   Price: $850

   Equipment:

Table top electronic (convertible to upright), rotational constant pull, 2 fixed clamps, 6 point mounting

   Experiences:

In general I have been happy with the machine. The company and their customer service are not great but with a little persistance I have been satisfied. The machine was shipped in a used cardboard box and barely survived the trip. Fortunately the machine made it intact. This is the first and only machine I have used. For price versus features it was definitely a good buy. I have strung approximately 300 racquets with it. I have encountered only two problems. About a year after purchasing it, the rotational tensioner would not stop turning when I released tension. After a couple of emails and a phone call they sent me a new micro-switch and detailed instructions about how to replace it. It was not an easy task and took several tries to get the micro-switch adjusted but it did fix the problem. The other problem/annoyance is that one of the clamps has developed a bit of corrosion on the ball bearing which has made it more difficult to squeeze tight. I took it apart and cleaned it and it is better but not back to its original condition.
Since this is the only machine I have ever used I cannot compare it to others. I feel the machine has served its purpose at a reasonable cost. At the time I bought it there were no other electronic machines with the same features in its price range. Despite a few glitches it allowed me to get a machine with the features I wanted at a price that I could afford.
Since I am beginning to string more than a few racquets a week I plan on getting a new machine and keeping this one for backup. I probably will not purchase an Eagnas but would not hesitate to recommend this one to someone who is just starting out.
