I have played 6-8 times with the string so far and have noticed no decrease in performance. Tension is stable. I could only play with former 17g Synthetic Gut for 1-2 times without breakage. I used it so long because it was cheap. Generally I play on clay.

I have used the same cheap Gamma or Prince Synthetic 17 forever. I had to find out what the big deal was all about with this string. Now I know. Increased power, spin, and control. I think that about sums it up. I'm going to compare with the 18g Gamma Zo True and the Luxilon Alu Power as well. I wish I had tried it before.

I used the Alu Power Rough on mains with X-Cel Premium on crosses. It worked out well for my game. However, the X-Cel Premium loses its tension quite early... Compared to a combination with Hurricane/X-Cel Premium, I thought the Alu was much better on almost every point. However it bites more into the X-Cel Premium than the Hurricane did... so this combination doesn't last as long as the Hurricane/X-Cel One.
Now that I have found my mains, I'll be looking for an alternative to X-Cel Premium...

As a 4.5 USTA NTRP player playing with a Dunlop 200G HM 18/20 racquet I've found the need on several occasions for a bit more power / feel / and spin. Unfortunately, until now these three have been mutually exclusive. Having read some articles on ATP string and tension choices of Roger Federer, Marat Safin, etc. I decided to experiment with their hybrid combinations... and they work for me. Since I've made the change to Luxilon Big Banger Rough 16 for my mains (56lbs) and Gamma TNT2 16 for my crosses (60lbs) my avg serve speed has increased from 105mph to 117mph; my kick serve is above shoulder height; topspin and driving underspin groundies are accurate and with increased weight; drop shots are shallow and sit low; volleys are crisp and accurate. Consequently my NTRP record has improved considerably...2 wins and 6 finals in the 2 months that I've used this combination.

The Big Banger has all the Poly Plasma doesn't have, the only downside is that the Big Banger is more sensitive, you need a lot of courage and touch to get the maximum power out of it.
