Very comfortable string, exceptional spin, precise control, durability is okay. Excellent on a dense string pattern (18x20) and smaller head size at low tensions (I string one piece at 30 lbs on my Babolat Pure Storm Ltd. 95 18x20).

Because of the gauge 1.10 vs 1.24 it is not as durable as Black Code, but you have better control and spin from the MSV.

Tested the black version on clay at 25°C with Dunlop Tour balls. According to the recommendation I strung approx. 6 lbs lower than usual.
I hadn't played such a thin string before. While the 1.23 gauge felt dull and dead for me, the 1.10 enabled me to play at my highest level. Sharp angles were absolutely safe, and my kick serve was precise with tons of spin, and I really enjoyed hitting heavy topspin shots on my forehand. Really awesome string! Unfortunately it has one big flaw - the tension was lost already after one (!) intensive match (2 hours). The string did not break but it was dead. I don't know how to describe it in a better way. So this string is not the right one for me for long-term use, however I can imagine to string it right before an important match. |

Compared to the Focus-Hex 1.23 (and also to the Black Code 1.24) the black Focus-Hex 1.10 plays crisper, more powerful, and a lot more spin friendly. Unfortunately tension stabiliy is much worse.

Easy to string. Great string for small head sizes (< 630 cm² / 98 sq.in.). Great feel and control. Tension drops after 6-8 hours of play.

This is a solid string. When I switched to a midplus from an oversize, I had to drop the tension to maximize the sweet spot. I decided to switch from synthetic gut to polyester. WIth the MSV I was able to have excellent control despite stringing my stringbed 10% lighter. This is an excellent string if you're looking for spin, power, and durability.
