Tested on hard court, temps around 50-60°F on a Yonex VCore 95D at 60/57 lbs.
Feel - 4 out of 10- it is dead since the beginning, I never played with a multi-filament so dead like this one, even though it is still comfortable I didn't have the feedback I was looking for, however I got this string for free.
Power - 0 out of 10- Probably the most low-powered multi I have tried and it's not stiff, with very good control, making it true the name of the string.
Comfort - still comfortable, but not like other multis I have tried at the same tension.
Tension stability - 7 out of 10- Was good for this type of string, still not like the Tecnifibre ones.
Spin - I'd give this string an 8 out of 10. Great spin for a multi.
Durability - 9/10 -- It lasted me as much or more as other lasted so it has to be a high score.
Overall I liked the string, but if I am using a multi it has to be because of its live connected feel and still very comfortable. Yonex Tour Super 850, Tecnifibre NRG and X-One and Wilson NXT are still overall better to me. |

| Comparing to Yonex Super 850 Pro, Rip Control has a better control and ball bite, but it has a dead feel (worse in my opinion) and less power. There is always a trade off and overall I'd choose the Yonex because of its feel, power and comfort. |

Played on clay vith Head Pro balls.
The slice stayed flat and deep.
Flats are very nice.
Spin should be forced a little.
Next time I will try to hybrid it with some polyester.
After 18 hours became kind of stiff, then I cut it out. |

I didn't expect such power... reminded me of the Wilson Reaction.
After 17 hours it became stiffer, could feel my elbow (same as Luxilon Alu Power Rough).

| This is the longest lasting multi/synthetic I have used, and my durability rating reflects that. I have used polys that break sooner. It is low powered, good feel at the net, and decent spin. A great alternative for someone who cannot play with poly, at a good price. |

Played indoors on clay with Babolat Team balls. I used the Rip Control as a cross string in combination with Signum Pro Poly Plasma 1.23.
During stringing the Rip Control feels very soft and flexible. On the court you instantly notice the good comfort and power. The string is a bit more competitive than the Gamma Live Wire XP / Professional and maintains its tension a bit better than the Isospeed Professional Classic. I also like the fact that it is available on reels. Control and touch are very good, as expected from a multifilament.
Great cross string for hybrid combinations. |
