| When taking the ball just above the sweet spot, response was crispy, precise and VERY VERY VERY spin-friendly. Every so often a ball caught in the sweet spot will absolutely spring off the stringbed, with almost too much power. I believe this could be subdued with a slightly higher tension. All-in-all, a phenomenal string for spin/placement players. Absolutely great... Alu Rough has been "owned." |

| In the right racquet, Alu Power Rough really works. I mostly use it in my crosses, softened out with some natural gut in the mains. Combined with my heavy Yonex RDS002 Tour frame of 12.4 oz, it makes for a comfortable ride. As with most heavy frames, one must not be tempted to overhit the ball, instead letting the racquet do the work. Once I did this, the string generated massive amounts of spin. With proper forearm pronation on serves, you will find access to more aces and most definitely a better second serve... however, proper technique is paramount. DO NOT count on this string to be a 'player improvement' string unless you have solid groundstrokes and proper technique. If used properly, it will pay off. My natural gut/Alu Power Rough hybrid use has, for the time in my life, generated actual complaints from my opponents about how "heavy" my shots feel. One opponent claimed my shots were so heavy and spinny that, upon contact with his strings, the ball actually torqued the racquet in his hand. |

| This is a very good synthetic gut for the price. The string is actually textured and gives good access to spin. Easy to string and comfortable on the arm. This string can be quite accurate in the right racquet. |
