Strung on Völkl C9 Pro – as one piece by pro stinger. Played on clay with Prince Tour balls.
Excellent characteristics in terms of control, feel and comfort. Spin is sufficient for a non-textured co-poly. No string movement so far.
The combination of a soft frame (59 RA) and hard string (271 lbs/in.) - works excellent for me.
Thanks to Pacific for the opportunity to test them – I'm XCited! |

Played on clay court with Head ATP balls.
These strings deliver a very good balance between all characteristics, typical of a modern comfortable monofilament.
I was surprised by the high level of power, but that was the only thing that needed adjustment.
So far, after 12 hours of play I feel that soon I will not search for other strings.

Strung in one piece by pro-stringer on Völkl C9 Pro.
Played on clay - indoors and outdoors, with Head ATP balls.
Break-in period wasn't required.
Impressions – very soft, elastic and comfortable string, textured and twisted - but the spin was moderate.
The crispness and the solid feel were missing; the string felt like muted, waxed one.
The stringbed was large and there were no problems with off-centered shots.
From the baseline – the string provided shots with the desired depth and power, but the control wasn't on a level!
Serves – the flat ones were rarely long and therefore an extra wrist was required.
On the net – the string provided excellent touch and feel, but required an extra slice to achieve accuracy.
During all that 8 hours of play, I didn't notice significant tension loss. There was no string movement.
IMPO, the string has to be used as a cross with other stiff co-poly.
Bottom line: Soft all-round string with a lot of comfort and feel, but do not string it on a soft frame - every advantage has its drawbacks.
Strung as a fullbed, the Octo Twist will not work for big hitters and top spin players.
Thanks to Stringforum for the given opportunity!

| Compared with Signum Pro Tornado (both are polygonal and twisted), Octo Twist is superior in terms of comfort and feel, but in terms of power, control, ball-bite and direct response, Tornado is far ahead. |

Played indoors on clay with Head ATP balls.
Used simultaneously on Völkl C9 Pro with the same tension setup.
Jagged string but the main surface is very smooth. Perhaps that's the reason to lack the ball-bite. If you coming from twisted or profiled strings, you have to adjust your game to this one.
As stated in other reviews, untypical string movement of the crosses - all the way.
The feel is somehow indirect; the comfort appears after initial brake-in period (2-3 hrs.). The durability is not an issue.
IMPO, the flat hitters or players with moderate spin, shall be more satisfied from that string.
Good all-round string without any outstanding characteristic. |

Played on clay with Head Silver balls.
No string movement after initial 2 hours of play. Holds the tension very well. I didn’t feel any sweetspot change and every off-center shot is tangible.
IMO two things make this string unique; first - longer dwell time and second - reacts very elastic on semi-volleys. Not least, supports extreme angle shots.
Bottom line: very good balance between power and control, so I’ll stick with it. |

Played indoors on clay with Head ATP balls.
Equal (main/cross) tension and DNX frame does not work together! I made a huge mistake by equalizing the tension of the crosses with the mains in order to compensate the expected loss. Much later I read that for these specific (DNX at 3 & 9 o'clock) frames, it is recommended to drop the tension of the crosses at least 2.5 to 3 lbs. I have learned that lesson the hard way!
Despite the lack of power and comfort in the first hours of play, the string provides very good control and lots of spin. Later, after 10-12 hours of play, after some tension loss, the string is much more comfortable and powerful. During all that time the smashes and volleys were precise.
Very good string (let aside that I made a mistake) and I will use it again with a proper tension setup. |

Played indoors on clay court with Head ATP balls.
Impressive string regarding spin and control but not comfortable at all … Makes the sweet spot very small and demanding very precise strokes!
The string changed after 6 hours of play and become somehow dull.
I’ll go back to a hybrid with soft poly as crosses - Luxilon Monotec Supersense or I’ll try Luxilon M2 Pro. |

Tested on hard court with Head ATP Balls.
Alu Power Rough in the mains!
I’m still using this string and can’t comment the durability.
I like that hybrid. I think that the string, the string pattern and the racquet’s soft frame work very well together.
The only weakness is the crosses movement. Next time I’ll increase the crosses tension by 2 lbs in order to stop or at least to minimize the effect.
Best string ever for me! |
