String Babolat M7 1.30
Test Conditions Tension Racquet
53/51 lbs Wilson BLX Blade 93 Amplifeel (MS, 18/20)
Absolute Rating Durability Power Control Feel Comfort Spin Tension Stability
 (1.5 hrs.)
The new Babolat M7 combines 7 polyester strands into one string. It looks like a Syn Gut - and plays like that too. Rather direct feel but touch is still good. Power and control are okay but not extraordinary. It lacked some spin and the string movement was quite bad from the start.
The string broke after only 1.5 hours in the center of the string bed.
For me a bit disappointing for a string that is advertised with high durability.

Probably the touchiest multifilament I have played for a long time. The string pockets the ball very well and provides good power, but also good control at the same time. String movement is little initially but then increases. Touch and comfort are great. Durability is also acceptable. Must try!

Great multifilament! One of the few multifilaments that provide really good spin potential, although the strings move a lot. Feel was typical for a multifilament, with nice pocketing. The X-Natural provided very good power on flat drives, while still maintaining great control.
This black multifilament is suitable for advanced spin players.

Great multifilament that provides a maximum of feel and comfort on flat strokes. Power is great and strings don't move too much. When hitting with spin, the string sometimes feels a bit "crystalline", but not uncomfortable. Nice dampening of the shock on impact. What's interesting is that this string does not fray - it notches.
My current favorite in a hybrid with Kirschbaum Max Power crosses - unfortunately durability is much too short...

String Solinco Tour Bite Diamond Rough 1.25
Test Conditions Tension Racquet
56/54 lbs Wilson BLX Blade 93 Amplifeel (MS, 18/20)
Absolute Rating Durability Power Control Feel Comfort Spin Tension Stability
 (4 hrs.)
Interesting direct but deep touch on impact. The prohfile looks like the Alu Power Rough, but the Diamond Rough is not a Luxilon clone. The Solinco is not as powerful and more control oriented. The spin potential lasts until the string breaks. The Diamond Rough not only notches but also the cross strings seem to flatten with time when you are a hard hitter, so towards the end the string looks rather edged than round.
Compared to the standard Tour Bite, the Diamond Rough is a bit softer, but not as soft as the Tour Bite Soft which is significantly more comfortable.
A nice update to the Tour Bite, which also looks very nice.

Test Conditions Tension Racquet
55/55 lbs Wilson BLX Blade 93 Amplifeel (MS, 18/20)
Absolute Rating Durability Power Control Feel Comfort Spin Tension Stability
 (5.5 hrs.)
The Origin should be strung softer than usual unless you want to have a killer stringbed stiffness.
Feedback on impact is nice and comfortable, but not as soft as a multifilament. The Origin provides lots of power so there was significant lack of control on fast strokes.
Strings were moving around a bit from the first hit.
The Origin does not fray but it notches and then breaks.

Finally there is a 2nd generation poly from Babolat at an affordable price.
The package you get is quite good: rather low power and good control. The feedback on impact is special and reminded me of the Pro Hurricane. Spin potential was good.

Overall this is an affordable alternative to Alu Power which had no weakness in any category. In contrast to the Alu Power it starts to move quickly, but that's the only drawback since playability wise both strings are on the same level. Nice direct feedback as we know it from the Luxilon. Great control and good ball bite.
Suitable for technically advanced hard hitters.

Good hybrid for players with flat strokes. Good feedback, very good power, at the same time good control. Biggest drawback of this combo is the lack of spin. No grip on the ball at all! I did expect that from the Pro RedCode but the X-One decreased the snapback even further.
Also due to the durability this hybrid is not suitable for me.
