The Ionspin played really nice! Solid feedback, still I found the power to be too high, even at this rather high tension. I had trouble keeping the ball in. I had good spin thanks to the texture, and there were no signs of wear after 2 hours of play.
I have to cut out the Ionspin now in order to string the frame with the Babolat RPM Blast which is my standard string for the season. The Ionspin does not reach up to the RPM Blast but it's a good powerful string for players looking for power and comfort. |

Very interesting string! The Black Pearl plays quite soft and comfortable, but still provides good control. Just shortly before it broke, I missed some control, but I don't really mind the last 10 minutes. When the string starts losing its control, you can predict very well when it will break or when you will have to restring.
The Black Pearl provided lots of power, which was great on my serve. I really enjoyed the comfortable feedback of this string.
You can't beat the price. Only drawback is the durability - 2.5 hours is not much for a poly. |

I was "flashed" by the great overall performance of this string. Great power, especially on the serve. Great control so you can place the ball where you want it to go. Comfort is also remarkable for a poly. I was very happy with the nice and solid feel - I thought about playing it without a dampener.
Conclusion: Really great string which provides that rare combination of high level performance in all categories! |

Strung in two pieces on the Babolat Pure Storm Tour at 25.5/24.5 kg.
Played with Head Championship balls for a total of 2.5 hours of singles and 1 set of doubles.
I had a good first impression of this deep black string which was confirmed on the court. I never had any problems with the depth of my shots and always had great control on the ball.
Despite its round shape, it provided great spin potential, especially on the serve. Although my first serve was not very successful (my bad shape), I could fully rely on my second serve because the excellent ball bite enabled me to hit kick serves which I rarely produced.
The string provided a nice direct feedback, similar to the Kirschbaum Super Smash, but not quite as stiff. I lacked some touch on volleys and drop shots. But my baseline game is much more important and the string performed great from the baseline!
I really enjoyed hitting with the Nikita Black Star. Unfortunately it lasted only 3.5 hours, then it broke on two main strings at the same time on a serve.
Conclusion: Great new string from SuperString, much better than Viper V2 Rough from my point of view. Only downside could be (again) the price, which has previously kept me from making a SuperString my standard string. |

Tested both on the Babolat Pure Storm GT as well as on the Tecnifibre T-Fight 320 VO2 Max.
Best feature of this great string is the excellent control which the Alu Power is well known for.
However I had expected better durability than 5.5 hours.
During this period, the BBO performed great in all aspects.
I did not have any arm problems - feedback was very solid on clean hits, and spin potential was good despite the 1.30 mm gauge.
Power was not too low at all, but control was still the major characteristic.
Overall a really great control string, whose market price has been adapted in the meantime. |

Visually very interesting string! You can see the black core through the transparent shell.
Initially I was very happy with this new multifilament from Isospeed, but after 2-3 hours of play the tension had dropped so much that I lost control.
In the beginning, control was sufficient to tame the enormous power of this string. It worked great on spin shots, with very little string movement. Extremely soft touch, really comfortable.
The Axon multi lasted surprisingly long for a multifilament, 4.5 hours is very good for me.
Overall a great multifilament which would be even better if it maintained its control a bit longer. |

The Pyramid is a triangular shaped string supposed to provide enormous spin.
I was indeed able to generate lots of spin, however I think that the 1.30 mm gauge takes away some of the potential because it decreases the space between the strings and the ball cannot be grabbed as well. Nevertheless the triangular shape does provide better spin than normal strings of this gauge.
The string feels rather stiff so I missed some touch on drop shots and volleys.
Durability of 6.5 hours is excellent and one of the best features of this string.
The Pyramid also maintained its characteristics over a long period of time - great tension stability!
Overall I had expected more from this spin monster. |

This is a decent successor of the Pro Hurricane. Power and control remained on the same level and spin has been increased through the ocagonal shape. Additionally, the thin 1.20 mm gauge increases spin potential even further. I was always able to control the ball since it provided a direct feedback. Of course it is not as comfortable as a multifilament, but I didn't have any arm problems.
Conclusion: Great tournament string which provides direct feel and great spin, as well as great power especially on the serve. Unfortunately the 1.20 mm gauge is too thin for my game, so I'd need to pick a thicker gauge next time. |

| I personally disprove the assumption that the Babolat RPM Blast is just a black version of the Pro Hurricane Tour. |

Very nice string!
Easy to string, especially since there is no poly in this hybrid combination.
The RIP Control in the mains provides decent spin and confidence. I especially liked my kick serves with the IntelliString. Control was also good, but power was dominant. Unfortunately there was a lot of string movement, and I noticed that a lot of felt was taken up by the cross strings.
Overall a good hybrid with good durability and power. |

This is basically a combination of RIP Control mains and Isospeed Professional crosses.
Great combo, which plays similar to the Head IntelliString, except that the IntelliTour is more control oriented.
I also liked the spin that I was able to generate with this string.
Unfortunately the strings moved around a lot. The cross strings picked up the felt from the ball.
An advantage of this hybrid is its good durability. |
