This string is really awesome - at least for me.
Previously I have tested some other red co-polys (Kirschbaum Pro Line No. I + II, Tecnifibre Pro RedCode) and the Revenge was the best. I'm really satisfied.
First I was sceptical but now I don't want to play any other string any more.
The string provides great power but not too much (like the Pro RedCode). Excellent control and spin. Looking at the spin potential one could think that it was a profiled string, but it is actually round. This string provides the best feedback I've had in any string so far. It's somewhere between the Kirschbaum Pro Line No. I (direct) and the Tecnifibre Pro RedCode (soft), so it's exactly what I need.
Only weakness is the durability - the string notches quite quickly. Despite the high price for a reel I bought one since this string will definitely be my standard string for 2010. |

No problems during stringing. The black main string stretches a lot for a poly, the silver cross string stretches less. The diameter seems significantly thicker than 1.20 mm which is positive in terms of durability.
I tried the Rupture V10 because it is said to be very comfortable, and this was confirmed with my test. No other string that I've tried so far was so soft and comfortable and provided such good feel than the SuperString.
Little downside: The tension drops over time, but remains constant when it has dropped down to a certain level. This only affects control. Spin is awesome! You will find fuzz from the balls grabbed by the strings. On flat strokes, the V10 provides too much power, but you can control it easily via topspin.
Even after several hours of play there's no notching and no fraying, which surprised me.
This string provides fascinating comfort, for me almost like natural gut.
Congrats to SuperString for making such a great string, especially considering the affordable set price. |

Driven by the good reviews of the Poly Plasma I also went for a test... and was positively surprised: The test results matched the reviews 100%. I had not expected that because everybody has a different game and different preferences.
Strung in one piece, 10% lower than usual as recommended by Signum Pro.
Control and power are extremely well balanced in this string. Almost no over powering, and sufficient control at any time due to the great tension stability. There is a solid feedback on impact which I like a lot. Comfort is above average for a poly. Almost no string movement. You don't waste time straightening the strings. Great value - for the money you get a great all-around poly which is definitely worth a test. I can imagine that players who used this string for the first time immediately switched to it. |

Comparison to the Babolat Revenge 1.25. Control is slightly better with the Revenge, but it's just a tiny difference.
The Revenge is still on my racquet and hasn't broken yet, so I didn't rate the durability and tension stability. |

On their own, both Pro Hurricane (gold) and XCel perform really great. Thus I had high expectations towards the hybrid.
When pulling the crosses, the Pro Hurricane made the famous squeaky sound.
On the court, I hardly felt the comfort of the XCel. The Pro Hurricane dominated this hybrid significantly. Would be no problem but I had the impression that the XCel decreased my precision. Nevertheless, control is probably the best feature of this hybrid.
Due to the lack of comfort, I also had moderate feel during impact. Spin was alright but I had expected more from the Pro Hurricane.
Tension stability was compared to another frame strung with the SPPP at the same tension. After two times on the court, the sound when hitting the stringbed with my hand was lower, and I felt the tension loss the next time I went on the court. The string was softer, provided less control, but better comfort.
Conclusion: While both strings are great on their own, the hybrid combination is not recommendable from my point of view. For me there are not enough advantages resulting from the combination of a poly with a multifilament. |

Strung in two pieces on my Pure Drive Team (switched to the Pure Storm now).
Normal stringing behavior for a poly.
After playing a multifilament previously and then switching to the Black Warrior (now called "Black Force" [2009-12-16]), I found why I love polys. I really appreciate the good balance of power and control in the Black Warrior. Power could be a bit better, but when you hit hard, the string does provide power. Thus it's a good compromise. Control is consistent due to the good tension stability. Crisp feel, but not uncomfortable. Great spin!
Due to my switch to the Pure Storm, I did not play the string until the end, but cut it out. So I cannot rate the durability. After 2 hours of play there were only little notches.
Highly recommendable for testing! |

Strung in one piece on my Pure Storm Tour. The surface reminded me of the Alu Power Rough. You need to take care that the strings are pulled straightly through the grommets, otherwise the grommets are hurt by the texture of the string. In the beginning there was almost no recoil memory, but it was more evident towards the end. Tying knots is difficult due to the textured surface which complicates the tightening of the knots. There was little stretch in the string, yet it was rather flexible.
Strung at noon and went on the court in the evening.
Played indoors on carpet with new Dunlop Roland Garros balls.
The first shots were a disaster. I really had no control at all. After switching to a more extreme western grip, my shots finally went in, and slowly I was making friends with the string. Spin was indeed supported by the rough surface, but not excessively. My impression was the the texture is so extremely rough that it negatively affects precision.
Power was good for a poly, but I could only use it on really flat strokes. Comfort was above average compared to many other polys. It makes that "thud" sound on impact which I like. Feedback was quite good. Also there was very little string movement.
Please mind that my observations are limited to a playing time of only 2 hours 45 minutes. The string broke on a smash (clean hit) at the third last main string on top of the frame. The spot where it broke was not a clean cut but rather a burst. I was only able to hit approx. 20 serves and I was not really satisfied with the string at that point. I lacked control and power.
Thanks for the opportunity, but unfortunately this string is not for me. I prefer the SuperString Rupture V10 which performs better in all aspects and also comes at a slightly lower price. |

The Pro Hurricane used to be my standard string for a long time - with good reason. It scores especially in the power department. Control and spin were also sufficient.
The string makes a squeaking noise when pulling the crosses, so don't be surprised.
For such a good string, the price/performance ratio is perfect. |

| I received a set of this string once for testing. Original natural gut... didn't want to pass this up. Power and feel were outstanding (as expected), control was good too. However I will stick to polys because I am used to that kind of string from the beginning and I just cannot afford natural gut on the long term. |

Since I used to play poly and suffer from an inflammation in my wrist, but still didn't want to switch to multifilaments, I tried the Cobra and it didn't let me down. I had almost no pain during play. Great string! However a big downside is that it loses more and more tension after 3-4 hours of play, decreasing the control. The texture had very little effect on the spin potential. Could be better.
But overall a really satisfactory result! The Cobra convinced me. |

Of course I also wanted to try this popular string and was not disappointed.
Easy to string, and it felt nice on the first shots. The hexagonal shape does support spin generation. I noticed good tension stability, i.e. I still had good control after 3 hours of play. I also think it provides better than average comfort for a poly.
Solid string which I will keep experimenting with. |
