The String of the Year 2008 survey is finished. Many thanks to all people who submitted their votes! 171 users have participated in this survey.
"There can be only one" - at least in the Non-Poly department: Babolat VS Team won all categories except durability and showed once again that natural gut is still perceived as the best string overall. Prince Pro Blend DF 16 defeated its title of the most durable non-poly string. The best performing non-poly, non-gut string was Tecnifibre X-One Biphase which was second only to natural gut in 6 categories.
In the Poly department, we have a new winner - the MSV Focus Hex won the Poly of the Year title, while last year's winner Signum Pro Poly Plasma and last year's runner-up Topspin Cyber Flash ended up at rank 2 and 3, respectively.
Traditionally strong in the poly sector, Luxilon was able to win some titles in the playing characteristics sections. Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Rough 16L clearly won the Power and Spin categories, while Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power won the Durability and Tension Stability categories. MSV Focus Hex 1.18 was also voted poly with best control. Signum Pro Poly Plasma 1.18 won the Feel department while Topspin Cyber Blue 1.25 achieved the title Most Comfortable Poly.
Congrats also to Pro Supex Big Ace Micro for winning the title Newcomer of the Year before WeissCANNON Explosiv! and Kirschbaum Spiky Shark!
