Gamma X-6
Gamma X-6

Evaluations of the Gamma X-6:

F, July 12, 2005:

   Place of purchase: ATS

   Date of purchase: 07/2005

   Warranty: 5 years

   Price: $299

   Equipment:

drop weight, 6 point mounting system, floating clamps, table top. Includes awl, pathfinder awl, pliers, and box cutter type razor.

   Experiences:

- Delivery took 3 days from PA to NY.
- Assembly was simple, less than 10 mins.
- The machine came with two user manuals. One was a manual specific to the machine with had limited illustrations and info on stringing but enough info regarding the machine. The second manual was a more detailed manual Gamma seems to give with all stringers and applies to most models.
- The drop weight mechanism has a ratchetting type clutch. The clutch is a little hard on the hands but it works well.
- I'm used to floor model stringers with fixed clamps but this stringer was very easy to use after getting acquainted with it. The build is very good for a table top stringer.
- I'm used to fixed clamps but these floating clamps seem to work well. I've only performed 5 string jobs since I've purchased the machine and no problems yet.
- The mounting system is easy and solid. Mount points didn't not block holes.
- The base is very stable and doesn't wobble when swinging the racquet around.
- ATS was very helpful in choosing a personal stringer. They took time to listen to my needs, understand my skill level, and price point. They also advised me of specials they were having on strings and how to save on shipping. Shipping was free.
- If I had to do it again I would choose the same model and would definitely purchase from ATS.

Ty, August 23, 2007:

   Place of purchase: ATS

   Date of purchase: 06/2007

   Warranty: used

   Price: $350

   Equipment:

drop weight, 6 point mounting system, floating clamps, table top

   Experiences:

Everything about this machine is excellent except for the composite clamps. They are lightweight and easy to use, but like most flying clamps, do not offer the same tension accuracy of a fixed clamp model. The machine is otherwise sound and very easy to use.
