First of all thanks to Mr Weiss for the sample.

Normal stringing behavior but one could feel the sharp edges. The string felt thicker than 1.23 mm.
Playing characteristics were very good. Great control, tension maintenance and power. Spin is outstanding. The only thing I was missing was touch. The string felt a bit dull. I prefer a rather crisp feel (like in the Kirschbaum Max Power or Luxilon Alu Power).
I think the feel could be improved if the Ultra Cable came in a thinner gauge.
Overall a nicely balanced string which will certainly have its fans. I'll definitely try it in a hybrid too.

I tried the Ultra Cable in parallel to the Kirschbaum Max Power 1.20. Both strings provide extremely good control. The Ultra Cable provided significantly better spin. Only touch is better with the Max Power for me (more direct and lively).

The string bed felt very lively, but there was so much bite on the ball it was controllable (at higher tensions). The tension maintenance has notable drop off. Increased power noticeably, but string remained predictable. Unlike volkl cyclone for example, which starts to spray and launch at odd angles while tension is lost.

Best grip on the ball that I've experienced. Far superior to strings like Volkl Cyclone, with much better tension maintenance than most soft polys. A bit more power than I could use. Tried it at lower tensions and within a few hours couldn't control the ball. At 27/27kg it played much more controlled.

A bit wire-like during stringing. Strung on an electronic stringer in two pieces.
On the court it performed very well. I have played roughly 20 hours so far (indoors on clay and carpet, practive and competition, with various types of balls) and it still holds up very well, which is unusual for me as the Yonex typically broke on me much sooner.
There has been no string movement so far either.
At the moment the Ultra Cable is my favorite and replaces the Yonex.
Would also like to try it in a hybrid.

Liked it better than the Yonex as it feels softer on the arm. Thus better comfort at same power and control, and especially better durability.

I tried the Ultra Cable as a full job, and the Red Ghost on another frame in parallel. Each string has its pros and cons. Thus I also tried a hybrid of Ultra Cable mains and Red Ghost crosses. And I really liked it ;-) Power and spin of the Ultra Cable are nicely augmented by the feel of the Ultra Cable. Still a powerful combo, but more comfortable with the Red Ghost in the crosses than each of the strings alone. It's good to have the best from both strings in this hybrid. Definitely worth a try for players who found the Ultra Cable too stiff and lacking feel. ;-)
