44/43 lbs Head Graphene XT Speed MP (MP, 16/19)
Absolute Rating Durability Power Control Feel Comfort Spin Tension Stability
One year ago I had this string on a test racquet and had positive memories.
After reading the other testers' comments I lowered the tension by 4 lbs compared to my usual tension. I would do that again. In parallel I strung another frame with my standard setup, Head Lynx.
Highlight of the Scorpion is its control which I found impressive. Besides that it provides good comfort for a poly and maintains its tension very well. Power level was a bit lower compared to the Lynx, but that is no drawback. The Scorpion feels more crisp and dwell time seems shorter. That's why I lacked some touch on drop shots and volleys. On my groundstrokes I had perfect control and precision. Longline shots worked just great. Angle shots worked very well too and the thin gauge provided good grip on the ball. On my serves however I lacked some bite and the more solid feel of the Lynx.
Overall a great string that I will definitely play again.

Comparison relates to Head Lynx 1.20 (yellow). The Lynx bites the ball a bit better on the serves and provides a more solid feel. On the other hand, my groundstrokes felt more solid with the Scorpion. The Lynx provides better touch, especially on touchy shots.

The Lynx is my go-to string for the summer season, and now I tried it in a hybrid with Babolat VS Team 1.25 crosses. The gut was strung carefully with 10% pre-stretch on a Gamma X-Els.
I had played the VS Team in hybrids with Luxilon Alu Power and Pacific Poly Force and had a bit better touch and comfort with them. The hybrid with Lynx felt a bit stiffer (especially in the beginning) and I missed the fine touch of the Lynx. For me the combo did not provide any benefit. I prefer the Lynx in a full stringbed. Only advantage of the hybrid was improved tension maintenance, but on the other hand there was string movement after a short time.

Comparison relates to Head Lynx 1.20 full bed. No real difference. The hybrid feels more crisp in the beginning and it lacks some of the touch that the full Lynx stringbed provides.

I instantly felt comfortable with this string and it worked well for me on this frame. It provides good touch on slow strokes and very good comfort. On hard strokes from the baseline it does not provide the same level of control and spin as a good poly, but on the other hand it provides great feedback and precision.
I will definitely play this string again, probably for the indoor season.

Comparison relates to Wilson NXT Tour 1.30. For me, the NXT 1.24 plays better. Good feel and comfort. I also had good spin potential (certainly due to the thinner gauge).

I had already played the 1.26 mm version during the winter indoor season and liked it, so I also wanted to try it on clay. Unfortunately the 1.26 was not available so I ordered the 1.30.
Overall I was a bit disappointed as I had expected better touch and comfort, and I did not feel that good compared to the previous setup. Comfort and touch were good but for a multifilament there was still room for improvement. It was not as forgiving and power was lower. Centered hits had significantly higher power and a soft touch but lacked control.
After 5 hours I cut out the string, so I cannot rate the durability. Up to that point the tension was maintained pretty well.

Last year I gave this string a first try indoors and still recall the unique touch. That's why I wanted to give it another shot.

Initially it felt gut-like, especially on touch shots like drop shots. Already felt this during warm-up. Hitting hard from the baseline it feels more normal like a poly. After 1-2 hours of play the magic was gone and the string felt a bit stiffer.

Despite the thin gauge and the open string pattern the string provides amazing control and ball bite, and I was able to generate great spin.

I cut out the strings after 6 hours so I cannot really rate the durability. During that period, tension was maintained well and there was no string movement.

The string plays unique in the beginning, but then loses those great characteristics very quickly. I would love to try it in a 18x20 string pattern one day.

Great string for the clay court season. Best feature is its spin potential. You really feel the strings bite the ball. All other characteristics were on a good level, so I can recommend the string.

Out of the package the string feels a bit stiff but during stringing it feels softer. The same on the court, where it provides good feel and comfort.

I'd also try the string in a poly/poly hybrid once, maybe with the Head Lynx 1.20 (yellow) in the crosses.

Played the yellow version. Great allround string with very good comfort for a co-poly. Feel is not particularly lively - rather dull, but still a nice touch. I really liked the blend of power and control. Especially on long, fast swings the precision was evident. The great overall performance is complemented by the string's very good spin potential. Great string!

Comparison relates to Head Lynx 1.20 (yellow). The YPTP has a bit less power, but that is not necessarily negative. With the YPTP, I liked the combination of the slightly lower power and very good control. The Lynx feels a bit softer and provides a finer touch. Spin potential was about equal.

I'm rating the yellow version of the Lynx. I had tried it before and now played it on both racquets. I went up by 2 kg and strung one frame at 22 kg and one frame at 23 kg. The latter provided slightly better control without sacrificing power or any other characteristic.
Comfort (for a co-poly) is standing out from the first hit. The string feels dampened but still lively. Very good touch and feedback after an hour of getting used to.
Control is very good and spin potential is excellent. Durability is certainly good. For me the characteristics are best for 6-8 hours, then the mains start to move and then the string feels a bit dull.
Overall a great blend of characteristics and I really enjoyed it.

Good old Poly Force! I had been using this string for one season on a Head Graphene Radical MP and Pro. That's when I liked it the best. Highlights are control and tension stability. The string provides lots of confidence and a nice direct feel. Feel is slightly dampened, but still crisp. Nice touch on drop shots and lobs. Good feedback and directional control. Spin can be generated easily but ball bite could be better.
Overall a very good reliable tournament string. I would string it 2 lbs higher next time on this frame.

Comparison relates to Luxilon Alu Power Soft. The Poly Force provides a bit less power and about the same level of control. Feels a bit softer but provides a similar direct feel. Does not grab the ball as well but still provides good spin potential.

String Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Soft 16L
Test Conditions Tension Racquet
44/44 lbs Head Graphene XT Speed MP (MP, 16/19)
Absolute Rating Durability Power Control Feel Comfort Spin Tension Stability
This string excels in the control and power departments. It provides good confidence in a fast game. It seems like the string "kicks" the ball just before it leaves the stringbed. It feels crisp and direct (somewhat honest). This round string grabs the ball very well and I was able to create very good spin with it. Only ccomfort was rather poor for me, but that would be the only drawback of this string, if at all.
The string lost 10-15% of its tension initially, but then maintained it very well for a long period. After approx. 12 hours of play it started to notch and the crosses started to move. After additional 3 hours I cut it out.
