male team player upper league
medium strokes with heavy spin, allround game
Current racquet Wilson BLX2 Steam 105S (MP, 16/15)
Former 5.0 with lots of injuries and age. I played Division II college tennis 20 years ago. At this point in my career, I am just a really good 4.0 singles to a pretty good 4.5 doubles player. I am an all-court player with good strokes and volleys but the injuries have limited my ability to move.

I hit a one handed backhand with moderate topspin or a hard skidding slice. Forehand with moderate topspin.

My serve has heavy spin, usually first and second serve.

I play about three times per week almost exclusively on hard courts and most often outside.

I prefer soft strings but have played polys and kevlars. I am a frequent string breaker; with a natural gut, synthetic or multifilament I break strings about every 4 to 5 hours of play.

The texture came off during the first set so any assistance from the texture was lost. It quickly became everyday nylon. Also, it was a royal pain to string. I would not recommend it.

Excellent string. I like it. It is comfortable and gives excellent control. It has good pop without flying. I rate it similar to Tecnifibre NRG2 and Gamma Professional.

The string is too costly for rather average performance. I do not hate this string (It is a good string) but I am not overly impressed either.

I think this string is alright but it is overpriced for the performance. Pay the extra and get better performance with Gut. Pay less and get NRG2. For the price, I expected more.

It lasts and lasts and lasts. It is for the chronic string breaker. For playability, I prefer the Ashaway Aramid versions better than ProBlend but this is more durable.

This is the best kevlar string I have used. It is kevlar but I like the way it feels better than any poly I have tried and it lasts longer.

It is a very comfortable string. It has a very soft feel and is pretty arm friendly. I am a big fan of comfortable strings and this one fits the bill. I have also tried this as a cross string hybrid with Natural Gut and that is a surpsingly outstanding combination. I used it as a cross because I only had enough natural for the mains and it was a very pleasant surprise. This is an underappreciated string.

It is not as powerful as NXT but it is more comfortable. I think is plays a little softer and more similar to Tecnifibre NRG2.

It is pretty close to natural gut. Nothing compares to the real stuff but this plays as close as any of the strings that claim to be natural gut clones. Very soft and comfortable. It is easy to string but hard to put through the holes to tie knots because it is so soft. Durability is not very good but it plays well.

It is softer than NXT and has more power. It takes a little time to get use to the power but it is very comfortable once you get accustomed.

It is very wire like to string. As Polys go, I like it the best. I am not a Poly fan but this is the best I have used. I hybrid it with Head FiberGel Spin. This combination softened up the string bed.

It is far more playable that any of the Luxilon strings I have tried. I am not a big Poly fan but of the ones I have worked with, this is easily the best.

The first time I tried this string, I hated it. I tried it again and I hybrid it with so some cheap natural gut. It was much better but still not a quality string. The feel of the gut made it tolerable.

When I used it as a full bed, everything was awful. Yet, as a hybrid it was passable. It is cheap and I received a free reel of it. I have had the reel for 8 years and I just don't see myself ever getting through the whole reel.

I guess the price was right.

This string was extremely comfortable and had a near gut like feel. It is cheaper than gut and much easier to string. I plan on using it until I find something better. I really like this string. It will lose tension shortly before it breaks and taking big cuts at the ball can cause it to sail long. If you are not a person who hits the ball with everything you have, it will not matter. S&V players as well as all-courters should like it very well.
