Solinco Tour Bite successfully defended its last year's Poly of the Year title after a close head-to-head race against the newcomer Yonex Poly Tour Pro 125. Surprisingly, being a 3rd generation co-poly classic, Signum Pro Poly Plasma achieved a solid 3rd place.
There were almost no changes compared to last year in the individual poly categories: Luxilon Big Banger Original 1.30 won the Durability and Control categories, Kirschbaum Pro Line No. II won the Feel (1.15mm) and Comfort (1.30mm) categories, Solinco Tour Bite is still perceived as the most spin-friendly poly, Signum Pro Poly Plasma was voted best tension holding poly, and Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Rough won the Power category.
Concerning multifilament strings, Tecnifibre X-One Biphase seems to be the undisputed favorite among the voters. It won the Non-Poly of the Year title as well as all other categories. Runner-up was Wilson NXT Tour while another Tecnifibre string, Tecnifibre NRG2 was ranked 3rd in this survey. Other strings worth mentioning were Head Rip Control (runner-up in the Durability, Control and Spin departments) and WeissCannon Explosiv! (runner-up in the Power department).
Luxilon 4G was clearly voted Newcomer of the Year, while Yonex Poly Tour Spin and Babolat RPM Team were ranked 2nd and 3rd in that category.
Final Result (most popular strings in 2012):
